What if Jesus was a real being and his real message was one of letting go of the world with faith?

What would you say if Jesus is real and his real message was one of letting go of the world with faith?

  • I don't know what you mean by "letting go of the world with faith"?
  • Using the expression " with faith " suggests to me without fear, or maybe it is better expressed as with confidence.

I'm with @Telly03 -- willing to play the speculative game, but not clear what "letting go of the world with faith" might mean from @AstralProjectee's point of view.
  • Also, is the opening post suggesting that was the real message of Jesus ????

    Flying spaghetti monster!

No really, there is no proof that anything is real, and we act as if it is all real (that helps the functioning part of it) and then we can't take it too seriously. So if we have faith in something and it causes to strive to be our best and live a more compassionate life, but then we die and find out we were wrong? well I think it is still okay and better than many who are not striving.

  • What if my aunt was a man, hey - then she would be my uncle, right?
But when it comes to the teachings of the Buddha, they are verifiable ..

I still don't get this theory that Jesus and the Buddha weren't real.

    I agree, Dakini.

I suspect it's like the Shakespeare-was-really-a-composite-of-different-writers theory, but the analogy just doesn't work for me.

And what if we aren't real? And what if this life is a virtual game? And on and on we go. We have to pull out, and just focus on not guessing. Perhaps, we can then focus on being more focused on doing good? Lol.

You'd probably need to study the New Testament to answer that one.

I think Jesus was teaching how to live a sinless life as he saw it. "Before Abraham I am" sounds like he has shed his self and is talking from a universal perspective to me.

I don't think he died to free us of sin as that seems highly irresponsible to me. He lived to free us of sin and was killed for it.
  • I stick by my spaghetti theory.
