lol, it was nice to see two animals who have the cliche of being enemies snuggled up together. I wonder if the cat even knew it was going on though though...

My last rat had no fear of my cats whatsoever. She would actually chase after them, if I let her. My cats knew better than to attack her, so the whole thing just scared them and they'd run away lol.

One night I even forgot to close her cage and went to bed. The cats obviously left her alone because the next thing I know, my girlfriend screams in bed because our rat has crawled up by her neck and nuzzled in, haha. I loved that rat... she really liked to cuddle.

Many years ago I was staying with a family with three kids and several pets. One day they found a white and black rat down by the river, it was clearly not a wild rat as it was clean and colored and not afraid of people. Either it escaped or someone released it so they decided to take it in. The rat had no fear of people or animals but the cat really wanted to grab it and take off with it, I assume instinct to eat it was at play. We had to keep the cat away as the rat didn't understand any danger. No point here, just a semi related story that came to mind.

Now that I think about it though, I wonder if the rat was effected by the toxoplasmosis parasite.

Your last rat probably was infected with toxoplasmosis.

what you describe is the effect this parasite have on rats.
