Pop Ups

These dealios have been drying to scam and direct internet traffic for years now. I am seen a change in their approach more recently, I would like to hear from NM users of some pop-ups that stand out in their memory. I have seen a lot that have been suggesting you can earn 750$ a day working at home on your ass, or simply filling out surveys LOL.

I think my spyware blocks most pop-ups, either that or I somehow don't go to any sites that have pop-ups. Most of the ads I see are off to the side of whatever web page I'm on.

  • LMAO, well some sites like killsometime.com and simpsns websites or southpark wbsites have loads. It is so annoying, also the way they try to target people is quite absurd. Some people must fall for it, but who!! Also online gaming sites have quite a few. I think a lot of it is due to people hacking the site and then the site is powerless for a while to stop the adds at the side. But like you said @person, most of the time they are at the side, the simpsons website I use has the most annoying setup. You have to wait 5 seconds for this add to appear, then clock skip add, then click which season you wish to watch, then wait again for this add, then click the episode and wait again!

I am curious to hear of any ludicrous adds people have seen..

I like ads for that online game Evony that make it look like some sort of interactive porn. It always says, "Come play, my lord." With a sexy elf or something... but if you actually look at the game... it looks so dumb and the graphics are closer to something off the SNES.

Yeah I remember seeing those a lot. "My lord..." lol...

I've seen ads for "dating services" that outwardly encourage people to have affairs.
I think this is the website: http://www.ashleymadison.com/

just install add blocker plus and be done with this.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

free, nothing complicated, and works like a charm.

What browser do you run on Tom? if you use Firefox I recommend downloading the Adblocker Plus addon. I use it and it stops all block ups, and removed those large annoying animated ads and ad banners from websites.
