Today I burned the porridge. It was a great porridge. With bananas and raisins and it would have had cinnamon and been creamified with soya milk.
Burnt. Gone. Never to be. Left the kitchen after turning down the stove. Only . . . I did not turn down the stove. I turned the wrong controller. Ah mindfulness, where are you when needed . . .
As I cleaned out the pan and left burnt offerings out for the squirrels, I murmed ”It's not fair."
Perhaps so but the pan cleaning became a meditation. Accidents and far worse happens in the world. It must be Dukkha and the First noble Truth before breakfast . . .
