A Few Haiku Poems I wrote

have not written a haiku since 2009 or 2010 so these are a few years old...
Please share your thoughts and\or poems too.

"Waves"
The violent waves crash,
And roll backwards to the sea,
-Such is our nature.

"Illusions"
Beyond dark and light,
Beyond form and nothing-ness,
Illusions are none.

"thoughts"
Think to stop the thoughts,
Stop to think of how to stop,
Here we find problems

"Empty bowl "
Walking down this path,
I realise this one thing-
An empty bowl holds the key.

  • Lovely haikus! I especially love "Waves." Great job!

Here is one I wrote back in the early 90's (actually, I kind of plagiarized it from a Wayne's World book and re-worded it into my own version):

    I hate you, haiku.
You are way too hard to do.
    I'll go watch TV.

  • @kashi - you haiku too? I still write, though not as frequently (I used to be almost fanatical about it and shelled out $450 for six out of print books of R.H. Blyth haha). Later, when I have more time today/tomorrow evening I will find some to post.

I think haiku is a great form of mindfulness practice.

    And very Zen-like in concentration.
  • Nice.
  • Thanks
