When I was enlightened, all I felt was happy.....
Still good!
Thought I would enjoy this as a new thread . . .
Quite often I am euphoric. One of those things I blame the Buddhist practices for.
I believe by law, Americans have a happiness clause and even the UK is going to become competitively happy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_national_happinessAre you happier with Buddhism? Are you a dukkha magnet? What's the plan, does it allow happiness?

yo forreal doe changed my life in all good ways
Gross National Happiness is such a plainly brilliant notion, looking forward to it taking off. Sometimes people just need a friendly reminder "what do you really want?"
happiness, of course!
Benjamin Franklin
Laughing buddha. Ha ha ha happy!
I'm sorry, it reminds me of an episode in my daughter's life when she was around three years old....
her father would always caution her against climbing walls, trees, chairs, or running everywhere, carrying to much and generally urging her to watch herself in case of accident.... whenever she seemed to not heed him, and came a cropper, he would always ask her, "Happy now?" in a mildly sarcastic tone. (It would actually piss me off on occasions, because the poor little thing might be crying.....)
But she got her own back.
In her room one day, driving a nail into the wall on which to hang a picture, she told him to 'be careful daddy, it's sharp'.... and moments later, he banged his finger full-on with the hammer.
I have to say, he managed to contain his language admirably, but she, hands on hips, head to one side, asked him....
"Happy now?"
I burst out laughing, which didn't please him at all.... but he never uttered the words to her again.....
As my successful (so far) new year resolution was to become unenlightened I am sure not in a position to explain.
As for the Bodhi mind . . . :om:
Happy now? Probably not. :bawl:
Perhaps no explanation is required to know we are happy. Is being happy a good thing? Can we increase in genuine happiness? I am happy to report that happiness is possible on the far and near shores and on the raft trip.
. . . no need to row, the current will take us . . .
There is no "happy place" to go find.
Nirvana is the concept you want ( while the totality of your life is going by you) looking for the promised land that will come maybe tomorrow.
Dropping the fear finally.
Dropping the anxiety and the worry.
Come what may, it is my life.
May I embrace it with the courage of a lion.
And the heart of the Buddha.

I feelz all 'New Agey' . . .
It presents me the lense of the now. If I'm not even
here now...how can I be happy in it?
Yes, I'm happy..... I have arrived. I am home.
