As is clear from the vast array of persona, being and interpretations, the world is different according to where we are inside ourselves. Where are we? Where are we as seeker/finders/noobs/pre noobs/avoiders/sitters/dharmaists/practitioners etc?
Nowhere? Somewhere mundane? On the path? Beyond the reservation?
Personally I feel progress because I do not accept 'just is' as a practice or even practice as practice. In a similar way, I note others moving in and beyond their personal limits. Entering the path that works for them. Constructing it from their capacity, bravery, decisions (karma if you will).
Must be timely to take refuge:
_I take refuge in the Buddha.
I take refuge in the Dharma.
I take refuge in the Sangha. _

Hey crusty guy
No moment but now to take such a refuge. "Timely" infers that there might be a better time but is there any other real time outside of what our imagination dreams of. Even thinking to wait upon your imagination for that better time robs you of each passing moment of grace that the taking of those refuges might have otherwise offered.
In reality, an ongoing practice is just where the time between the retaking of those refuges repeats with ever increasing frequency.
Like meditation, the experience of those refuges are as fluidic as we are..
I take refuge with you all in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha too.
Now for some chanting as I go my merry way:
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་
Feel free to join me...
Any other clowns, celebrities, politicians, soldiers, despots, dictators, unhappy people, happy people out there, feel free to join in as well, you are all just as welcome.

... ...
I take refuge in the Buddha,
the one who shows me the way in this life.
I take refuge in the Dharma,
the way of understanding and of love.
I take refuge in the Sangha,
the community that lives in harmony and awareness.
[bell]
Dwelling in the refuge of Buddha,
I clearly see the path of light and beauty in the world.
Dwelling in the refuge of Dharma,
I learn to open many doors on the path of transformation.
Dwelling in the refuge of Sangha,
shining light that supports me, keeping my practice free of obstruction.
[bell]
Taking refuge in the Buddha in myself,
I aspire to help all people recognize their own awakened nature,
realizing the Mind of Love.
Taking refuge in the Dharma in myself,
I aspire to help all people fully master the ways of practice
and walk together on the path of liberation.
Taking refuge in the Sangha in myself,
I aspire to help all people build Fourfold Communities,
to embrace all beings and support their transformation.
