Intention of loving kindness

The principle concern of Buddhism is the mind.

The way we experience every part of our lives is affected by the qualities of our mind and by the coloring filters of our mental attitude.

The mind is the nucleus of samsara and nirvana.

Right intention and a universally loving attitude are essential to finding a happy life. Accordingly, consider something like the following to help guide and focus your intention every day:

For the rest of my life, it is my responsibility to grow in mindfulness and happiness. each day I will expand the loving kindness I already have, and each morning I will open my wisdom-eye to see more and more deeply into the inner universal reality. I take responsibility for my life and dedicate it to others by growing strong in loving kindness and wisdom. I will serve others as much as possible.

Make the determination that this will be your way of life.

    Bravo. Exactly so.

This comes under Sila, part of the 8 fold path
    http://www.buddhamind.info/leftside/lifesty-2/sila.htm

    right "performance" (caritta),
    and right "avoidance" (varitta)
are two training parts of this ethical/moral stance.

I didn't realise lobster was contagious....

    Love the quote, @Vastmind....
good to look at it periodically, now and then.... (By 'now and then' I mean, memorise it and keep it to the fore of one's mind....)

    Re: the quote -
I've heard (read) various emanations of the quote. In whatever manifestation it has occured, it is a good one.

I feel after we find the beginnings of peace perhaps through practice

We inevitably want to <3<3<3 mettaditate [tee hee made up new word]. In a sense innocolate rather than going viral ...

Increased will power and focus, finding the inner well being, inevitably, just common sense really, leads to the original posters intent.

    Increase in Love

  • ..Der be always Plan.

Plan, Plan, execute - ADJUST! =)

    @Vastmind quoted:

As a trainee Bodhisattva, service with a smile is practically the whole of my practice, that and a bit of mindfullness and formal cushion squashing.

    How can we serve?

    Dharma Hinayana style:

    • Dana (looking after our uniformed Sangha branch)
    • Practicing the removal of afflicting hindrances (being a better citizen Bodhi)
    • Following precepts

    Mahayana style

 ... still working on it ...

Must learn to mettatate (like meditate - less medi, more metta) I haz plan!
