The kettle itself only sings to let you know your water is ready.
This past winter, my teenager got a letterman's jacket. It was never my thing. Initially I did not understand his desire for it. But who am I to tell him how to celebrate the things he achieves? He works really hard, harder than most, to gain the patches he puts on his jacket. He does it for himself, and only for himself. He never brags, he never compares to other kids to see who has the most. He just enjoys the small recognition of accomplishing so much.
And I'm left cold. When did "office politics" become something desirable?
I still don't understand and can't reconcile "promoting myself" under that definition of "corporate culture."
Its frustrating.
Don't tell how great you are.
