If we are to sin, let us sin boldly, and partake of many calories…
Schwarzwalder kirschtorte — had the opportunity to try a few different ones on holiday, delicious
My grandmother’s Dutch Apple Pie — I still have the recipe somewhere
Anything made by my cousin — he specialises in wedding cakes (see below)

My favourite cake is the New York Cheesecake or any Cheesecake with Digestive cookie foundation.
And wow! All those look delicious. Goed gedaan!
That berry one is so pretty I could get my fill with just the eyes.
My favorites tend to be plain on the outside and go well with a coffee-esque drink. This one's a milk/vanilla pudding sweetbread.
My grandmother had a neighbor, a lady from one of the Caribbean islands. She had trained in her family's bakery business before coming to the U.K. She used to make these incredible fruitcakes that contained quite a lot of rum.
The aroma when taking the lid off the tin was absolute heaven.
To many to pick only 1000.
Pineapple upside down cake

Lemon cake
Banana cake & Carrot cake &........
Now...how's a buddha eat a cake?
Like this...
Gateau St-Honore.
Saint Honore is the patron saint of Bakers and pastry chefs.
@rocala
That cake reminds me of the classic "tarta de profiteroles" we have here.
The Buddhist group I belong to on the island, (believe it or not ) is called "The Buddhist Cake Club" ...When the group first started up, member's would bring along cakes to the weekly meetings ....We would have tea and cake (often homemade) after discussion and meditation...
Now thats what I call a proper incentive to meditate.
Walnut cake
Lemon drizzle cake
Banoffee pie. (I know, I know... not strictly a 'cake'... so... Bite me - !)
I have high blood sugar for now probably more from my medicine rather than any usual high indulgence in sweets. Since early August I cut sugar treats completely out of my diet. I'm going to take a fasting blood labs again in November, but I do miss my sweets with cakes being a favorite.
This is a description of a favorite cake:
Chantilly Torte
We offer golden cake, moistened with a touch of Grand Mariner, filled with rich chocolate butter cream and real custard. Top it off with real vanilla buttercream and layers of chocolate lace!
Yeah @Jeffrey that's definitely the way to go. the more sugar and coffee I have the worse my meditation is so I've grown fond of better options when I'm wise enough to pull my grabby hands away from the pastries at the market. Fresh orange bell peppers are essentially candy. Also being mindful of the mind and body state going through the experience of consuming and processing the stuff and the effects can help reduce interest since most unhealthy things tend to not make me feel great afterward.
That's something I'm good at forgetting...observing the pleasant or painful experience in detail usually reveals deeper understanding which helps detach from it vs trying to struggle with restraining it. Is the struggle part of the imagination? Struggle from attachment not yet fully detached because it's not yet fully understood?
There is a very good patisserie near where I live, and whenever I go to that part of town I’m tempted to get some cakes as a special treat. Tom pouce, or a chocolate special with lots of mousse, or an apple pie with whipped cream, or a little pastry with lots of fruit and custard, i love them all.
Oh, gee whiz - I used to like cakes, but diabetes has altered my perception remarkably. Now I am kind of disgusted and repelled by them. Wife keeps making them anyway, so I have plenty of opportunity to work on mitigating this reflex.
I hope Christianity will take note …
Do this in remembrance of me …
The Body of Christ (gives out slice of cake)
The Blood of Christ (gives out tea or coffee)
… fat chance … as for the ChristoDharmaist's … Let them eat sugar free cake …
