Thanks for the links, Lobster. That material is certainly of general interest, and when there is time, I may go further than just look at them. For the time being, I shall continue as I am doing. What you posted had made me see my little discovery in better perspective. Thanks again.
By the way, the dizziness seems to have passed now (about a week, with not one dizzy spell). Fingers crossed!

I decided to splurge a couple of months ago, and bought the combined set of The Lord of the Rings (Extended Edition) and The Hobbit (Extended Edition) on iTunes, just so that I’d be able to stream them in 4K on my iMac upstairs without disturbing my mother who often watches the evening news on the big tv downstairs. It was only 35 euros, so not hugely expensive.
I’m finally getting around to watching them now… starting with…

I have continued:
a) not consuming/downloading pirated content (a.k.a. "not taking what is not given").
b) not taking my phone to the toilet (a.k.a. training in discipline).
c) practicing Wim Hoff breathing exercises (I get higher-level thoughts) and taking cold showers (training in discipline and doing the hard thing).
d) coordinating and donating towards/part of an annual scholarship and doing Kiva microloans (dana).
I am also tapering my coffee and benzo minimum dose (for the anxiety) addictions.
And I'm back to exercising and "not eating stupid shit" per @Jeffrey's excellent recommendation - looking to lose weight and improve my fitness, energy, and mood. I iz stupid and need a one-liner to guide me when in doubt or temptation.
They include the iTunes Extras package for each film, which has in it a bunch of ‘making of’ documentaries. It’s not quite everything that was in the Extended Edition dvd package I think, and I’m not sure about the commentaries.

I’ve tried that, and I find not having something sugary first thing in the day changes the way my brain feels… it’s like it needs that sugar and caffeine hit to get going, and then it feels alright for the rest of the day. After all the brain uses almost entirely glucose as food, and consumes 30% of the body’s supply.
I do still have sugar in tea and coffee though. But I drink those only a few times during the day.

I eat sweets, but I try to reduce consumption for my impaired glucose (pre diabetes). I am good for mornings though because I have a long habit of eating a banana and another fruit each morning. Where I fall down is wanting a later in the day treat and I have things like muffins, piece of pie, etc. Sometimes ice cream and that's a big time falling down because not only does it have sugar like pie but I also have trouble portioning it out day to day. In other words if I have ice cream I eat the whole thing and if I have pie just one piece a day. But for mornings I am good having black coffee, banana, and other fruit.
