"The Pope Song"

genkakugenkaku Northampton, Mass. U.S.A. Veteran
As a footnote to all the refined sensibilities and deft argumentation invested in the Catholic Church and its child abuses, "The Pope Song" may provide something trenchant, witty and telling. If dirty words offend your ear, give this a pass.

Organized religion and priesthoods in general don't seem to work out all that well for the more vulnerable members of the laity....

I really, really wish I could watch this, but I access the internet via a dongle and it uses up way too many mega-giga-whatsit-bytes, or something.... :(

However on a total side-note, this guys talent is extraordinary, truly.
He appeared on the Royal Variety performance Spectacle (ostensibly the greatest talents in the world do a turn in front of our Monarch for their amusement, and for Charity...) and everyone, regardless, has just 3 minutes to show how good they are and what makes them worthy of appearing.
    So Tim Minchin did this.

Utterly, utterly brilliant. A masterclass in Comic timing.

I don't know what it is about Tim Minchin but I just don't find him at all funny.......different strokes I guess!

Seems like a nice young man though.

I'm with Bunks, although I've never heard of the guy before this since I'm not a Brit. He is without a doubt talented, but funny, eh.

I DO have to admit I cracked up with the line about " are you being served" I LOVED that show as a kid.. "Mr. Humphries.. are you free?" and of course petting Mrs. Slocum(was it?)'s pussy lol.

It was tartly pointed out to me by an Internet chum across the pond that Minchin has found a hobby horse (religious life) and rides it for all its worth ... to such an extent that he comes out seeming as tedious as any pamphlet-waver who shows up unannounced on your doorstep.
