'practice'?

I think practice refers to something you do rather than only touch on in thought. You do the meditation.

I think it does not mean that you are practicing for a later date when you get it right and give a perfect performance like in theatre.

I see it as doing my best to walk the walk rather than just talk the talk...or think the thought, lol. My best attempt to do the things I think are important rather than just have heard someone else say them and agree with what they said.

    You do the meditation.
    Eventually you don't stop.
Move on from formal awareness to practice as a life.

    Still working on that . . .

  • Sila or virtue is the practice part ie. keeping the precepts, generosity, making the effort to give up unwholesome things.
Samadhi or stillness is where the "practice" is to do nothing ie. be still
Panna or wisdom is only able to arise from the preceding steps.

  • An old friend said don't call it practice, just get used to it
