Barrasoto zenniewandering in a cloud in beautiful, bucolic Victoria BC, on the wacky left coast of CanadaVeteran
I love Wong Kar-Wai films, especially In the Mood for Love and Chungking Express. So I love this photo I took at Jalan Alor in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I feel it really gets the heat and bustle of an average night in SE Asia.
@Jason - Really cool to see monastery life in that candid way.
@Jayantha - Looks amazing! Was it hard to get around to get that shot? Seems pretty remote.
Fairly rugged driving but nothing like the drive up to machu picchu. I'm fairly sure we were on a small day tour during this and we took a bus.
The two most remote places I've been were Peru and new Zealand, hard to decide which was more amazing, but I think nz wins by a slight lead.
Agree @Jayantha re: south island of NZ. It is the most stunning scenery I've experienced anywhere on earth (Milford Sound has to be seen to be believed!)
Not my photo but this gives an impression of the landscape.
The crazy thing is that people from the North Island of NZ don't travel to the South island as a general rule. They are bonkers...... :screwy:
This statue is just now being finished on a hill overlooking Pai, in northwest Thailand. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it's pretty big, maybe 30-40ft.

I'll try for a better one when I get there tomorrow.

Very proud that Herm Island has been named as one of Rough Guides 19 places in the world to go back in time. http://www.roughguides.com/gallery/go-back-in-time/#/10
