The Future of Karma - retro-causality and other wonders

lobsterlobster Crusty Veteran

Dear Friends,

Imagine if karma worked in reverse. In other words my excellent efforts as a future Buddha, ensured my progress in the present. Ibn-Arabi formulated such a theory when he gave the example of an oak tree causing the means of its being, an acorn.

Such a theory now is approaching mainstream with the idea of retro-causality ...

What we need is to throw a little liquid light on the idea ...

Are you confident of your Buddhahood. Is it helping?

All the known laws of physics work equally well backwards as they do forward. Except for one notable exception, entropy.

At any rate, it's a nice notion. Maybe when people have the experience of a being made of light and love, they are having an encounter with their future Buddha self.

I love that black holes power quasars. It just adds credence to perpetual motion and the idea that a true beginning is impossible. In turn, a true ending is also impossible.

    Nothing is wasted.

In regards to retrocausality, I think it would just get hard to follow in regards to what happened first. If something happens in the future to affect the past then the past must first exist without the effect of the future cause. The future event would still happen first even if the effect doesn't follow a linear path. Subjectively it could seem as if the effect predated the cause but it would actually prove the existence of alternate timelines.

The liquid light is pretty neat too. To me that kind of solidifies the idea that the matter/energy paradigm can be further reduced to show that it is all just information.
