Another way to fleece the faithful?
I coincidentally saw the ad on one of their pages which was talking about Dana. Of course.
Oooh-er....
I think the devil has to be in the details. There isn't anything inherently unethical about running a business. Credit Unions are generally more concerned about their members than traditional banks. To me, if done right, which by the looks of @federica 's post it may not be, is probably a positive addition to the material world.
ETA: my reading of fed's article is that the Shambala credit union was tangled up in fraud as a victim in part of one criminal's activity and not a perpetrator.
Capitalism ruins everything, even spirituality.
With a spreadsheet perhaps. I wonder if they offer special loan rates if I want to buy a lama?
Come to think of it ... ? All the imaginary lamas, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas I keep in a cupboard are dead and Free. ?

I hear Jesus Saves ... ?

But Moses invests....
... and Buddha begs
...your pardon
I don't see a problem. Credit unions are not-for profit organizations, unlike banks. Credit unions are not for making money. If you want to make money, you open a bank, not a credit union. Naropa University is way better off keeping their funds with their own organization's credit union then they ever would be with any bank.
