Bondage

As someone yoked to kindness, practice, the four jewels (I added the enlightened from other traditions), I will never be a free nun.

Free, I am free.
I am free
by means of the three
crooked things,
mortar, pestle, and
my crooked husband.
I am free
from birth and death
and all that dragged me back.

Every once in a while, or daily, I change my practice extras. For example may dust out my Theravada Dharani magic. Journal my daily incites (like insights with a dash of vajrayana). Find Lady Buddha ...

What will you add to the dharma grind?

The Buddha box is like an etch-a-sketch without the frustration and eventual incident with a hammer, you can do circles! ? As for female lineages, it's good that women get to be named as significant teachers, but my anarchic side can't help feeling that it's also opting into the power games.

Once during a meditation on freedom I realised that we are all bound to a few things... we are bound to loved ones, to our possessions... to our houses and places to stay in... to food and drink and what’s necessary to get them. We are bound to all kinds of procedures of the modern world.

In theory I could go to Tibet tomorrow by plane. In reality I would have to get a permit, a plane ticket, a place on a tour, inoculations. It would take weeks of planning and effort. So are we truly free? We can do things as long as we do the right things in the right order.

Of course I could give it all up, say goodbye to the planned world and instead start walking. That is a freedom we have, as long as the money holds out and we can keep buying food and drink...

And I saw this and thought you might be interested

    In vajrayana practitioners get empowerments.

When zen is anarchical, it disempowers the patriarchy, alignment to ignorance, self righteous dharma, empty posturing etc.
