Especially for you both, this video about the first ever man to ski down Everest.
Pilgrimages are not a part of every Buddhist tradition, but I feel drawn to them, I think because they are a way for like-minded souls to meet. I came across this piece on YouTube where a yogi said, in consciousness we are all one, and so thoughts and entities can migrate when you are close to people. Be careful of the company you keep, he was trying to say.
It puts me in mind of the sutra where Ananda says to the Buddha that holy company is half of the path, and the Buddha replies, no, holy company is the whole of the path. That is why I find a video such as the one below, even though it is about a pilgrimage to a temple of Shiva, a Hindu temple, captivating, and that it gives off a wholesome energy.
This video was of a great mountain trek, part of the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Fascinating people who care for these temples and tea houses along the way, and beautiful scenery of the mountain valleys and peaks in the distance.
I’m enjoying these trekking videos in Nepal, around these big 8000m mountains… some beautiful landscapes, great nature, quaint tea houses to stay in.
I found this short piece by a group of politically minded economists on why liberal democracies lead to economic imperialism and oligarchy, one of them, Clara Mattei, has written a book on escaping from capitalism. Fascinating stuff!
This is an interview with Clara Mattei about the book on UK’s Channel 4. The interviewer is a bit of a straight up establishment guy, but it’s very interesting to see how she talks to his points.
Thanks @Jeroen very interesting and informative interview .
Another very interesting trek by Flora Gonning, the ascent of Mount Rinjani in Indonesia is not a beginner friendly hike, but she filmed it beautifully.
Dirty Business

Yesterdays 3 part documentary. Grim.
So today a train journey through Norway...

For 'real' chocolate lovers

I buy Whittaker's dark chocolate 72% cocoa
Yeah… I usually buy Lindt 78% Pure. But I noticed it has gotten a lot more expensive, it’s now around 4.50 euros per bar.
At 55 minutes long I think this qualifies as a documentary. I know almost nothing about coding, but I found this story captivating. A post hoc analysis of an almost globally catastrophic hack to the linux system. For those who do understand coding ( @linc @Iobster ) I imagine this would be very interesting.

ah ha! Many thanks I will be watching that...
I use Linux (not BSD) and am always fascinated by the naughties/hackers
I have probably recommended this 3 parter elsewhere

A nice half hour for Alex Honnold fans. Kind of a day with him and his family both in the city and on a hike.

I had never heard of this tantric cult. Compelling but terrible abuse from a self appointed Guru. It is interesting but harrowing...
