Meditation resulting in visual anomaly

For three months my meditation focused on a white dot. I sat for three monturs each day.

In Ajahn Brahm’s book on meditation he describes a phenomenon he calls a nimitta, a shining and sparkling area in his vision.

    It does happen...

Phenomena come and go...Nothing special...one of many illusions produced by/through the sense doors...This too shall pass

You are concentrating, focussing, perhaps stressing?

    1. Why are you doing this?
    2. What is a montur?
    3. What is the anomaly?

A montur is the famous unit of meditation, which hovers over your head while sitting and flaps away when full, only to be replaced by a new empty one. What do you mean you don’t know about monturs?! ;)
