If you mean books on Buddhism, I have around 33, if books in general then I have also have around 70...
Just the buddhist...the rest are hundreds..
And EPub And PDF?? Wooow contless
Fellow caveman here. I count 51 on Buddhism and 139 others. I'd guess around 50 are fiction, another 20 resource books like cookbooks or travel guides, etc. and at least 1/4 to 1/3 haven't been read or are only partially read. But a few are very dog eared and worn out.
Buddhist? Probably about 100. Other, maybe 20
Interesting question. I had to count - about 50 Buddhist, about 200 others, predominantly on art and natural history. My wife, on the other hand, has no Buddhist books and, I estimate, more than 800 of the non-Buddhist variety. This trove occupies an entire small room in the basement - which the dog also uses as a sneak toilet - and spills out into several additional rooms.
Luckily I am internetanised.

hey! thanks a lot for the links!
a long time ago I had on my old PC a lot of links that were lost or changed.
Now I am compiling them again in the spirit of the 21st century.
I remember that back then organizations would send boxes of books as donations. And companies sent their catalogs by mail as well.
I found a brochure of the Vajrayana Foundation that was sent to me in 2001. It was published under the name of Lotus Light.
let's start sending letters and postcards to each other again!
You are welcome. For your new links, maybe start with a less commercialised search engine.
I use startpage and ignore the ads (presently only three at the top)

yess. i agree..i use a lot of alternative ways... since Linux and all the browsers and search engines.
nogafam!!
My buddhist library is modest. I have maybe 10 books and about 40 pdfs. Some of them have been key in my understanding of buddhism.
But I do find it interesting that @ShanJieshi2’s buddhist welcome letter says to only read those materials that the your teacher has approved. When I was studying with the Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa temple, they had a similar policy. There was a cabinet with many slender, similar-looking volumes which had been written by the Rinpoche, which you could borrow.
Personally it was one of the reasons for me not to continue with that temple. Being free in searching for books and writings is a privilege, hard-won in some places in the past, and not something I am keen to let go of. Similarly it is a reason for me to not pursue becoming a monk.
@Jeroen One of the big problems for students is reading spiritual books without
help, because words really don’t touch the truth; you have to look beyond
them.
My Master says :"When I taught the Dharma in Thailand, India, and China, I met
people in monasteries who, as monks, studied the Sutras (which are better
than most books) on a daily basis but hadn’t grasped the essence and
therefore hadn’t liberated themselves at all from the mind in preparation to
advance on the path. People go to temples, do initiations, and follow practices
for years without having the slightest idea of what they’re really doing."
You have been fortunate @ShanJieshi2, it sounds like your master has travelled and taught widely and knows what he is talking about.
Luckily we also have resources such as this forum (and others) to ask questions, and decent commentaries for important texts, so its not quite as bleak as you might think if you try to make your own way or don’t have a master to hand.
Who is your master, I’d like to know?
Let me send you a pic
This book is written in Q&A format. It is of course a summary of hours and hours of teaching and has many interventions of mine from which I benefited greatly!!!
but of course the substance is in the answers.
Other more intricate books would follow, but the beginning came in this project.
2007 seems like a long time ago...but at least it was a recent time when we sent each other letters and books.
