Not sure how familiar you are with the app Discord?
I’ve joined a few Buddhist groups via it and it’s fantastic.
Being able to chat in real time with monastics and lay people. Join group meditation etc.

I use discord but I'm only on one server, the one for Patreon members of The Magnificast Podcast (mainly about leftist politics and Christianity). I used to be on another one, but I just didn't feel like I belonged and left. Any good ones you recommend?

It was me, and thansk for the invite, but it's not for me. I don't like to be restricted in how I approach or talk about Buddhism. I know that many Buddhist forums discourage topics like politics, but I'm a very political person and Buddhism has political implications. It's not just the internal practice, but the external actions we choose. And since I know I'd bring it up on occasion, I left the server. Saves me the trouble of getting scolded. lol

How do you know they're monastics?
Because I know them in person from the monastery I stay at
