At our Saturday market stall, where we collect donations for Medical Aid for Palestinians, we're sometimes joined by a local Israeli woman. She has supported Palestinian self-determination for many years, both here and back in Israel.
What’s happening in Gaza has been hard for her to come to terms with. It causes her real anxiety and distress. And yet she continues to help out.
Her presence is a quiet reminder that this is not about religion or ethnicity, it’s about standing with others in their struggle for justice, even when it’s personally painful.

I found this debate quite interesting...A real eye opener ...especially the guy called Conner 22 minutes in.
Mehdi Hasan does a good job dismantling their arguments...
What Jubilee cut out would be interesting to see.

Hello from across the pond 
We're in the throes of heavy rain (again) and storms expected tonight. I did read Australia might get a tsunami of about 1 metre on the East Coast but nothing solid and nothing compared to the rest of the world. I hope everyone here who lives in the expected paths stays safe.

@NZcivildefence has advised that an earthquake near Russia has created tsunami activity.
We may expect strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges at the shore from midnight tonight.
We were also warned to stay away from the coastal areas , not that easy when you live on a small island.

I’m not a bot, although sometimes I feel like one. I joined because I was upset that my dharma friends were making incense offerings on their forearms to the Buddha. I’ve since come to terms with this ceremony and realize that some people need it to deepen their practice, others deepen their practice climbing mountains. Each to their own, the way isn’t static.

That book is one of my favourites. Along with Lama Surya Das' series. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is also an author I read prolifically on Buddhism.
I’ve also read a lot, first in Buddhism and later in various spiritual traditions. I’d quite like to read Lama Surya Das’ books, I was just having a look at his bibliography on Wikipedia and some of the titles appeal to me. Thanks for the tip!
