Long time no see.
I think that...
Buddhist Precepts are guidances, which run in accord with enlightened action.
Biblical Commandments are laws, which when broken are against mankind & God.
Which makes me wonder if
precepts apply to Buddhist concepts of no soul
whereas
commandments better apply to the concept of a God and of a soul in peril?

“‘I am bound’ and ‘I am free’ is exactly the same trap. So only the desire for freedom will help you, for you are what you think. Think of destroying the mind and the mind becomes a destroyer. Think of Freedom and you become Freedom.”

"If you are replacing a thought, with a thought of gratitude, you are not living in the present moment, you are still up in your mind too much, simply live in the present moment, study the noble eightfold path, the four noble truths, dependent arising, three marks of existence, any thoughts that crop up simply need be recognized and dropped, bringing concentration back to the present. In Buddhism, is an inner confidence in something that is worthy of our trust. For example, we have faith in the Dharma, but that doesn’t mean we have to blindly swallow everything we read. Just because it is written in the holy books or because a lama says it, doesn’t mean we have to believe it. In the Buddhadharma, that kind of credulous, unquestioning, naïve belief is not necessarily considered to be a virtue at all. The quality of questioning in an intelligent manner, and really investigating and seeing for ourselves whether something is worthy of our belief or not, is very much encouraged.
Due to a set of circumstances which I will not enumerate, I have been compelled to watch movies every night at bedtime. I have felt that I am being poisoned - story after story after vapid story. It affects my state of mindfulness in the morning, and I have to purge this "story mind" as a form of practice. Not too difficult or time-consuming, but I have to be aware of it when it is active and be able to discriminate between potentially useful stories and merely distracting ones.
Not sure I would advocate living without stories entirely - I'm suspect they can sometimes be a useful tool, but they also have a tendency to get out of hand. Just another thing of which to be mindful, I think.

Every thought has the potential to turn into a story.... I have a trilogy of Novels buzzing around my head. What a Biography this is going to turn out to be.
Currently, one reader.
Needs an editor....

The ego/ selfish self or identity is just the telling of a story.
This story is created & promoted through the manipulation of our sense gate data flows.
Stop manipulating the sense gate data and the story dissipates.
This is what meditation teaches us to do.
This is one description of the difference between being dreambound and being awake.

Family Constellations, also known as Systemic Constellations and Systemic Family Constellations, is a therapeutic method which draws on elements of family systems therapy, existential phenomenology and isiZulu beliefs and attitudes to family. In a single session, a Family Constellation attempts to reveal an unrecognized dynamic that spans multiple generations in a given family and to resolve the deleterious effects of that dynamic by encouraging the subject, through representatives, to encounter and accept the factual reality of the past.

What are the Jinn?
Oops the wrong kind of Jinn spirit...Mind you, both can be found in a bottle...and once out of the bottle both can cause havoc if not used sensibly...
Feel free to add a video of something interested, perhaps educational too...
