You have a delightfully eccentric sense of humor.
Is that a polite way of saying I have a warped/twisted sense of humour ?

I used to call it "active rest" - where I/we are "just resting". I found it very regenerative and good in my situation of monkey mind and monkey emotions where if I try to bring some calm to the system actively, I often (not always) just make it worse.
Yes, I’ve noticed that, often after I try to purposely relax I feel worse than after I just make tea or engage in another no-concentration activity.
I think in scientific jargon this would be called accessing the rest&digest nervous system state. Kind of like after having lunch the body wants to snooze a bit or rest after a workout. These are not laziness but the way the body looks to process and get back to balance.
I love snoozing, it’s my favourite activity. Perhaps I should have been born a cat. 🐈

Shameless solidarity grab here.
Does anybody else get fired up thinking about the equanimity that is possible in an imagined future on the Buddhist path?
I guess Christmas is an appropriate time to consider this, because it's not unlike waiting for Christmas morning. As a child I was so ready to be out of school and to get gifts. There was an excitement with a little bit of frustration. Like, I CAN'T WAIT.
The irony of feeling similarly about Buddhist practice is not lost on me.
Always remember to luv them wrathful devils, they hate that. Also if a re-incarcerated bodhisattva, you can sell your soul incessantly (just think of the children… and donuts) for sprinkles of your choice. More tips for those contracted in blood, sweat and tear ups. Burn.
