Oh how wonderful to hear that about your sister. That's especially good news sicne a friend of mine just informed me that she lost her baby...it was a chemical pregnancy. So sad as she miscarried not too long ago.
So, congrats on becoming an uncle! What a great birthday present.
To quote what my husband (who incidentally is 6 years younger than me tsk!) said to me on my 36th birthday earlier this year ......... Now you're closer to 40 than 30!
Xray and I were born on the same day in the same year about 8 hours apart (I think) on opposite sides of the world. That's why I refer to him as my brother. I should call him twin brother but it's too much typing.
Thanks for the wishes!
Love,
Brigid

How about 'Twother'? or 'Browin'?
Browin sound nice...Like a celtic name.... Heathcliff style....
Thankyou to all of you. I wasn't quite, "whooping it up" as federica said, however. Due to having children attached to us permanently, the Mrs. and I had a very expensive meal out in the morning. We went to a Scottish restaurant for breakfast. Mmmm sausage and egg McMuffin-yum.
I love birthdays...except, not this one. It's too close to 40 and like I was saying to my sister, It produces Cognitive Dissonance-because I feel still only in my late teens. I like to hang out with young people, or peeps as I call them. I hang out at their cribs. I'm down wit dat.
later.

P.S. A warm and loving Happy Birthday to my sister, Brigid.

Don't despair, little bro. I'm still older.
I'm still laughing..can..barely....breathe...
A warm and loving Happy Birthday to you, too.
We can pretend that we just turned 17, K?
BTW, McPoison will kill you. Better to have a fry up at home. You're not 17, you know.

Hey Sis,
You referred to a "Fry-Up" at home-is this something you do?
Is this yet another one of our coincidences?:eekblue:
Here is a weird sito for you, We have what we call a Cook-Up on most weekends/some nights once a week on average, it consists of scrambled eggs or an omlette with either salami, Kransky or bacon (or all three) on toast.. I can actually feel my heart slowing down when I think about it! Oh well.
P.S. Sorry about the lack of vegetarianism-that's on the other 6 days of the week!
Yes McPoison will kill me-but it's okay because all the preservatives I've consumed over the years, will preserve me for another 20-30 years by my estimation...:tonguec:
A fry up is a term for a fried breakfast I heard a lot when I was in Wales and I've called it that ever since so, yes, it's sorta the same as a "cook up", I guess. At the university we used to fry eggs, bacon, sausages and tomatoes and have chips and toast. But I think they add other things over there that I don't want to talk about in case Yogamama's reading. But if you're going to eat some of the animal, you should eat all of the animal, I always say.
But here in Canada what I do is a little different. Well, a lot different, really. I poach two eggs in water with lots of vinegar, fry some bacon until it's crispy, toast whole wheat soy bread, slice ripe tomatoes and sometimes, only sometimes, I have fried potatoes like home fries which are fairly finely diced and fried with onions and herbs. I make wicked home fries. Perfectly browned. But since I'm mostly sedentary now I can't eat all of that in one sitting so I rarely have the potatoes. It's also a little too hard to stand at the stove that long. My favourite part is the juicy tomatoes (raw, at room temp.) and the toast with a little bit of crispy bacon. I love tomatoes and toast. It's early morning here and I guess I'm hungry!

That's a nice theory but they only preserve your body, not your life. lol!

Happy Birtthday to all those who are not members of NewBuddhist, born on this day, and whose birthdays we know not of. May the coming year bring them to a sangha as beneficial as this!
Happy Birthday Nick
