Not Amish country, but we are way out in the middle of nowhere. Exactly what we wanted. It only took us a few years to find it. I have been so busy getting settled into our new farm and getting all of our "critters", but I think my life is settling down now so that I can visit here more often. I miss everyone!
We've been told he's a 'boxer mastiff'. He is formidable! 142 lbs!!! He has a really good sense of humor, though. When he meets someone new, he just sits and stares at them...guaranteed to unnerve anyone!!! Then to top it off, he'll turn to us and laugh!:D
As this is the picture thread I thought I would just share - here is me on Tonto, my motorbike. I am just so grateful to be on him again after such a long absence.
this is a pic of me this time last year if only you could see the deepth of my smile, which has
had a shadow cast on it by having to leave and go back to work.
its scotland, i went on the spare of the moment(always wanted too) for 2 weeks
and its lovely. Full of the stuff that cause's inner carm!
i went out on loch lomond which was so peaceful in a canoe, and i found white deer on one of the islands.x
knitwitch it don't haft move it compared to the little 125 yamaha TW i had before some kind sole nicked it.
it being a new bonnieville T100 -865cc its quieter & smoother than the old oilly brit.
now in theory i can take my time to get somewhere, because i may get home much quicker.
yours looks good may i ask what it is?
Tonto is a modest little Honda 125 CJ. Ten years old and a gift from my grandson. I can go anywhere not too fast (usually cruise at the speed limit over here of 90 kmph) but he does have only a tiny wee tank so we make a lot of stops. But he is mine and I love him.
Yes Knitwitch,
my old 125cc. only had a tank of a 65mile range before a refill
was needed, which has a good side you get to stretch the legs and relax
for a moment more often!
Even now driving my new 865cc. Bonnieville I think 45-50 mph is
fast enough, any faster and you get to see far less of the world.
"its great to pop out to see the trees & a flower or two"
Yes, gets to the stage when you no longer turn around to look at a member of the opposite sex passing by .... but a bike ....... now that is worth a turn!
well hi HD ARE OK I get to go for a spin now & then with the local HD club ,TOY run for christmas toy to hospital 2weeks ago all for a good cause.
hay as ive poped in ie seen my pic's in this thread have been kid naped ? sorry about that .
I hope you all have a good new year be it western or chinese etc.and may the big 5 be easy to follow.
OK... Here is a typical shot of Bermuda, and pretty much what it looked like as I rode to work today on my motorcycle. Never gets real cold here (we're in the Gulfstream yanno) so it can still be bright and sunny even in January/February. I chose not to post the ever posted beach scene... Anyone care to visit? Hahahahaha!!!
A number #26 from Union Station!! Hahahahahaha!!! But if I were you I'd try USAir from Reagan National... much better chance of reaching your destination!!!

Here is the view from my balcony, taken a couple of mornings ago. The domed building is The Legislative building for the government of British Columbia.
Also a photo taken next to our harbour - I like the various 'blues' in this one. In the background is a fiberglass eagle - they have been painted by various artists and installed all over town. This one has a painting of an arbutus tree on a sky blue background.

Here's my house. It's a tin shack, insulated with cardboard. I have no electricity (truck battery runs the radio), no running water, I have a home-built composting toilet, a vegetable garden, chickens, a bathtub with a fire under it, and a lot of peace and quiet. ahhhhh...
It's also a lesson in accepting impermanence and change, as the shack is built on the back of a farm with no thought to building regulations or legalities. One day the City Council will find out and order it to be demolished. Anicca, anicca, annica.
The impermanence of the place makes it all seem sweeter, more beautiful, as I know it's not going to last beyond a decade or two.
Like blossom, so sweet and brief.
I like that a lot, James. It seems like a really quiet place, free of distractions.
I just moved a couple months ago from an apartment into a house. I don't know where the cord is that connects the camera to my computer, but I'll get a picture of the house once I find it. XD Moving is tough.
So I have just one question, Kenny - are his/her eyes really that blue, or are those those contact lens thingies you can put in to change the color of your eyes?!
Beautiful dog. We've got a dog rescue operation going that started with Hurricane Katrina 4 years ago and has rescued a lot of beautiful (and some not so beautiful) dogs. Mainly now we get them from a pound in Arkansas that doesn't have the money or the facilities to not euthanize, so we get a bunch from them. If anyone would be interested in adopting one of our beasties, just PM me. We keep them on a ranch in Arizona, but our facilities are limited as well, so we try to adopt them as fast as we can to make room for more (unlimited supply). You can check out the website at tarasbabies.org.

And MY Alain Delon is a bit more tubby with a full set of Cap'n Birdseye whiskers!

My house in the suburb. This is where I live.
You can see my broom lying on the porch and the pots plants taken out to the driveway to be watered from the rain.
I was going to steal him but I couldnt decide between him and the Harley...
