Geshe Kelsang Gyatso teaches a great new way to practice breath meditation in his book The New Meditation Handbook.
Follow the breath as you normally would, and add this...
When you breath in, you mentally say the mantra OM. ("ohmmmm")
When you hold the breath for a moment, you mentally say the mantra AH. ("ahhhhh")
When you breath out, you mentally say the mantra HUM. ("hooooom")
OM is the body of all Buddhas.
AH is the speech of all Buddhas.
HUM is the mind of all Buddhas.
Before practicing you may want to say aloud, "May I have the body, speech, and mind of a Buddha for the good of all."
Then, when you are practicing, have faith that you are being blessed with the body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.

One should never stop practising ....

I've often wondered if most meditation works on the "Fake it 'til you make it" principle of buddhahood, and the main point is to sit there and look serene and be a good example... nah, probably not
Sometimes - I get a little riled by this kind of self-help attitude.
Just breath and see where it gets you!
There are super-powered meditation techniques but those are designed for those who can really participate and deal with them.
And who determines who can really participate and deal with them? You?
Sometimes I get a little riled by this kind of self-judging attitude....... #justsaying
I Can't and Don't cos I know I'm just a who man!
