The Northern wind brings snow and ice
Humans starve and freeze
The Fimbul winter has arrived
And soon the world will cease to be
Brother will be brother's bane
No one shall be spared
All will die. None remain
That is mankind's share
The southern sphere is set ablaze
Muspel's fire is set free
The sun is on its final chase
And soon the world will cease to be
Across the western sky he runs
A wolf so grim and mean
Devours the eternal sun
And soon the world will cease to be
The North Star falls from the sky
Into the deep cold sea
The first of all to fall and die
And soon the world will cease to be
Muspel's flames lick the sky
Níðhöggr eats the dead
The Aesir meet in hall up high
And Oden 'quests Mimer's head
Land is swallowed by the waves
Rocks and mountains break
Dead men on the path to Hell
And Yggdrasil quakes
[Lead Mikkonnen]
From the East comes a ship
Loke holds the oar
A demon army with swords that rip
Will join the final war
The army of the dead arrives
Heimdal blows his horn
Calling Gods out to die
Before the world can be reborn

Cipriano de Rore (1516-1565): Mon petit cuer for eight voices
My poor heart is not my own,
It is yours, sweet beloved.
But one thing I beseech of you,
My own adored one,
It is your love:
Keep it for me.
An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
For he saw the Riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry
Yippie yi Ohhhhh
Yippie yi yaaaaay
Ghost Riders in the sky
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat
He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet
'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky
On horses snorting fire
As they ride on hear their cry
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from Hell a-riding on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Trying to catch the Devil's herd, across these endless skies
Yippie yi Ohhhhh
Yippie yi Yaaaaay
Ghost Riders in the sky
Ghost Riders in the sky
Ghost Riders in the sky

Gorgeous music of Josquin (though that last track is actually Alexander Agricola).
This is from yet another out-of-print disc, and I haven't found it available for download either-- like so many early music albums in my collection. So I ordered it used from Amazon... for $119. :eek2:

Tiesto - Athena
I'm up early and everyone else is still in bed.
Now I hear the garbage trucks....haha.
Gigantic gigantic gigantic
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you've
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before
Nothing's changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...Only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love
I was delayed, I was way-laid
An emergency stop
I smelt the last ten seconds of life
I crashed down on the crossbar
And the pain was enough to make
A shy, bald, buddhist reflect
And plan a mass murder
Who said I'd lied to her ?
Oh, who said I'd lied because I never ? I never !
Who said I'd lied because I never ?
I was detained, I was restrained
And broke my spleen
And broke my knee
(and then he really lays into me)
Friday night in Out-patients
Who said I'd lied to her ?
Oh, who said I'd lied ? - because I never, I never
Who said I'd lied ? - because I never
(Here -- and instead of oh)
And , so I drank one
It became four
And when I fell on the floor ...
...I drank more
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you've
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before
Nothing's changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...Only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love

Music is God
John Dowland (1563-1626), the world's first emo...? This is one of the best performances I've heard of this song of his.
In darkness let me dwell; the ground shall sorrow be,
The roof despair, to bar all cheerful light from me;
The walls of marble black, that moist'ned still shall weep;
My music, hellish jarring sounds, to banish friendly sleep.
Thus, wedded to my woes, and bedded in my tomb,
O let me living die, till death doth come, till death doth come.
Semper Dowland, semper dolens ... "Always Dowland, always doleful."

I tremble
They're gonna eat me alive
If I stumble
They're gonna eat me alive
Can you hear my heart
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Help I'm alive
My heart keeps beating like a hammer
Hard to be soft
Tough to be tender
Come take my pulse the pace is on a runaway train
Help I'm alive
My heart keeps beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
If we're still alive
My regrets are few
If my life is mine
What shouldn't I do?
I get wherever I'm going
I get whatever I need
While my blood's still flowing
And my heart's still
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Help I'm alive
My heart keeps beating like a hammer
Hard to be soft
Tough to be tender
Come take my pulse the pace is on a runaway train
Help I'm alive
My heart keeps beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
If we're still alive
My regrets are few
If my life is mine
What shouldn't I do?
I get wherever I'm going
I get whatever I need
While my blood's still flowing
And my heart's still
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Help I'm alive
My heart keeps beating like a hammer

R.I.P. Lou...
started lessons this year, and the mornings with music/practice
has been a wonderful thing to watch and listen to. Still too early to
tell if he's going to take to it...but I love the sound, none the less.
I just love the vocals in this one, the beat is pretty good too. I just close my eyes, relax, and suddenly I want to wiggle my body to it. Seriously, the singers in these songs don't get nearly enough fame or credit. They can outsing damn near any of the popular artists today.
Loooove trance.
This is my favorite song its called Reincarnation its by Geinoh Yamashirogumi it sounds so ancient and mystical and its just has a beautiful and powerful sound to it, i have listened to this dozens of times, its a work of art
Just the dulcet tones of Ajaan Geoff and Jack Kornfield for me these days.......

Beer, Beer, Beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer
A long time ago way back in history
When all there was to drink, was nothing but cups of tea.
Along came a man by the name of Charlie Mopps,
And he invented a wonderful drink and he made it out of hops.
Hey!
He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king.
And to his praises we shall always sing.
Look at what he's done for us, he's filled us up with cheer.
Lord Bless Charlies Mopps the man who invented
Beer, Beer, Beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer
The Drunken Rat, the Aiken Drum, the Trowles Pub as well,
One thing you can be sure of, it's Charlies' beer they sell
So all ye lads and lasses at eleven o'clock ye stop.
For five short seconds, remember Charlies Mopps.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five...
Hey!
He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king.
And to his praises we shall always sing.
Look at what he's done for us, he's filled us up with cheer.
Lord Bless Charlies Mopps the man who invented
Beer, Beer, Beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer
A barrel of malt, a bushel of hops, you stir it around with a stick.
The kind of lubrication to make your engines tick.
forty pints of wallop a day will keep away the quacks.
Its only eight pence hapenny, and one and six in tax.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five...
Hey!
He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king.
And to his praises we shall always sing.
Look at what he's done for us, he's filled us up with cheer.
Lord Bless Charlies Mopps the man who invented
Beer, Beer, Beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer.
The Lord bless Charlie Mopps.
