Now, as an anime fan, and someone who feels a deep connection to forests, I found I rather like this song. But to anyone here who speaks Japanese, could you help me understand what type of dialect is spoken in this song? I've never heard anything like it.

Isn't it amazing how appropriate this song is these days, living in the U.S.?

If we only knew the truth about it
Maybe we could work our way around it

Then maybe we could ignore that the shore
    Used to be the edge
    Explore more
Than our block or the next
    City over
    With nothing on our shoulders
But the clothes on our backs
And you leave us here with nothing
    Expecting no attack
    With soldiers on the way

If we only knew the truth about what really goes on
Maybe all the things i do would make sense just for once
Maybe we could work our way around it
If we only knew the truth about it

You think its crazy to think there's
    Nothing to hide
    Whenever there's a proposition
    For me to decide on
    There's a million suggestions
    With a million intentions
    With the people getting richer
    Off the people getting poorer
    Its due for peeking over
    There's justice on the way

If we only knew the truth about what really goes on
Maybe all the things i do would make sense just for once
Maybe we could work our way around it
If we only knew the truth about it

If we only knew the truth about what really goes on
    And what you said
    Behind closed doors
    On private Lines

More than just a lie or two about what really goes and what you said
More than just the right thing to do the time has just passed us up instead
Maybe we could work our way around it
If we only knew the truth about it

  • Umm boom bah day
    umm boom bah bay
umm bah boom bah bay day

    Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man asks for
    Under Pressure
    That burns a building down
    Splits a family in two
    Puts people on streets

    Umm bah bah bay
    Umm bah bah bay
    Ea day da
    Ea day da
    That's okay!

    It's the terror of knowing
    What this world is about
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming let me out
    Pray tomorrow takes me higher
    Pressure on people
    People on streets

    Day day day
Umm... Buh da bah bah bah
    O-kay!

    Chippin' around
Kick my brains 'round the floor
    These are the days
It never rains but it pours

    Ea doe bay dup
    Ea da doe bah bup
    Ea doe bup
    Bay lup

    People on streets

    Ea da dea da day

    People on streets

Ea da dea da dea da dea da...

    It's the terror of knowing
    What this world is about
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming let me out
    Pray tomorrow takes me higher-higher-high...

    Pressure on people
    People on streets

    Turned away from it all
    Like a blind man
Sat on the fence but it don't work
    Keep coming up with love
But it's so slashed and torn
    (Why, why, whhhhhyyyy??)
    Love love love love

Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking

Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love give love give love?
Give love give love give love give love give love

Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care
For the people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way
    Of caring about ourselves

    This is our last dance
    This is ourselves under pressure
    Under pressure

    Pressure

Someone eventually got back to me after an hour and a half, when I gave up and sent an e-mail. Apparently their service centre burnt down and they forgot to divert the phones.
Ironically, when they called me they said didn't you 'hear about it on the news, we thought everyone knew!'.

I thought she was a Kiwi?

Anyway, have been digging bluegrass lately.

  • Yea she is Kiwi ...I was just poking FED if she sees it. It's an inside joke . But not a good one since I was mistaken about her nationality.
I am a big fan of Bluegrass. I play lots of traditional stuff for fun ( I'm not too good)

Lorde has written an interesting song in terms of vocal expression I think. I like her style but she is so young. I hope she enjoys her success.

  • I heard this song a good while back while I was driving down some back country road at the end of a long leg of a journey. Something open the open road, tiredness tugging at the corners of my eyes, only cigarettes to keep me awake, and then this song popped on, and I felt that the odd mix of lilting, airy vocals with an energetic melody gave me an odd sense of vigor.

  • When I saw this thread, what am I listening to now?
my first thought was, an audiobook.

I have a suitcase of 90's trance music just like this - I'll post similar tracks as I dig them out over the next few days - I'll PM them if you'd like, rather than make everyone else suffer this a-lyrical transcendent form of synthetic music.

I used to meditate all night with music of a slightly more tranquil nature than this particular track ( in my bedroom as a toddler), and would often find the sun rising before I finally lay my head down in my little cot bed.... Ahh. Those were the days

  • Ha, this must be the rarest song from the game, I've only heard it once. Great track, though. I like to imagine it, it's the final lap, you're in 2nd place, jockeying for first. Your tires are thin, you can smell burning clutch and burning brakes. You've lost three of six gears, but at this point you only need the one. The grand prize and the gold trophy are within your reach, but can you do it?

I've been interested in hearing more slave music. The songs are so profound when you know the context in which they were sung. So raw and mournful, but yet with a glimmer of hope.

"This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)"

Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb - burn with a weak heart
(So I) guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
    Feet on the ground
    Head in the sky
    It's ok I know nothing's wrong . . nothing

Hi yo I got plenty of time
Hi yo you got light in your eyes
And you're standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
    Never for money
    Always for love
Cover up say goodnight . . . say goodnight

Home - is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time Before we were born
If someone asks, this where I'll be . . . where I'll be

Hi yo We drift in and out
Hi yo sing into my mouth
Out of all tose kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
    Love me till I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
    Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head Ah ooh
