It struck me a while ago that most religious views of the spiritual are useless obfuscations at best. For example, the Muslim heaven has rivers of wine. The Christian heaven and hell are places among the clouds and in the lava. These are things which are derivative, they are present on Earth and some enterprising priest has extended them into the spiritual world. Yet language brings these concepts to us as if they were truths. “Don’t you know what heaven is? Let me tell you…” They are cheap tricks to convince and frighten primitive people.
If you accept these things are all the dreams of other people and largely illusory, you are just left with places which are more pleasant and places which are less pleasant. If you wish to truly understand the world, a walk among the woodlands has more to teach you than the words of priests. You would see that everything is continually transforming, trees becoming soil becoming bushes, clouds becoming rain becoming streams, plains becoming mountains before being worn down again, and that all form is purely temporary.
It seems to me only reasonable that in a spiritual world there might be a similar principle, that acting beings get recycled from role to role according to the whims of the energetic winds. That as beings become more sophisticated they pass through a series of natural challenges to do with how well evolved they are, which are intended to teach them lessons.

I must admit, I just think all these world leaders are more than a little insane. You would have to be to want to be a world leader, and then to go to war. And who wants to listen to insane, very cunning people justify their actions… what use is it to know the news, to be up to date with these things? You can’t do anything about it, your indignation serves no purpose.

Why do you think you write on the forum?
There are many reasons why my ego might push me to write on the forum ...
But the main reason why I write , is to share some of the thoughts which make their presence felt...
However there always seems to be a Dharmic connection to be found somewhere in amongst some of the non sense I write..
Possible hints of compassion, empathy, kindness, sympathetic joy, satisfaction, attachment detachment clinging, craving, dissatisfaction...

Writing here unearths my conditioned responses of the past, which can then be compared against the less habituated versions of the same that occupy this present moment.
how
Spiritual and mundane are not separate.
Your spiritual journey is necessarily interconnected with your day to day real world of just living. Your spiritual practice can be seperated from your mundane, worldly affairs but each will none-the-less affect the other. In melding the mundane, the material, with the spiritual, you grow and advance. In separating mundane from the spiritual, you will reach stalemate.
Today is Bob Marley's birthday and Waitangi day (The signing of the treaty of Waitangi between Maori and the crown)...The new corrupt coalition government (the three um egos) received a cold welcome onto the Marae at Waitangi by Maori elders...
Many Maori tribes are attending the ceremony and voicing their distrust for the government who want to take away their rights...
It's a public holiday hence why the Auckland Amada has arrived in many of the bays around the island

Experiences
From my personal 'experience'....
"One is simply one's experience.
One's ego is the abstraction from these experiences
One's ego should be viewed as a convenient analytic device."
