Are we worthy?

Just supposing you do not have the karma ripe enough for enlightenment . . .

Oh the humanity!

What to do? Are you prepared to serve and support the sangha perhaps? Do you need to prepare before becoming of some potential? Or are you like me arrogant enough to think you have all the requirements in place? A human mind and body, OK got that. Time and circumstances to practice, OK got that. Ability and Attunement? Probably not enough, maybe we need to have better motivation than me, me, me?

Maybe the Mahayana are right, it really is about serving others . . .

Imagining that your 'karma' is not ripe enough is about the same as imagining it is ... a waste of time.

Either way, you're stuck with the same nourishing farm.

  • The Buddha self realized in vipassana but afterwords Mahayana helped to distribute the teachings. Serve yourself before serving others in such a way that is constructive for all.

    My 2 cents

  • This is it man. Either we get it right now or we don't.

And each moment is another chance to wake up. Not finding anything, god what relief.

Whats left after not finding anything?

Thats like asking the question all things return to the one, where does the one return to?

This functioning, the eyes seeing this, color arising! How simple. How radiant. How empty. This is where pure and impure make no more sense.

Face the one thing that one always avoids. The very transience of this ever present instant.

My Buddha nature digs this one. :)
Since I'm empty....Im here to serve others.

Oh shit! I hope that doesn't fill me up, hahaha

  • Milarepa had to build 7 towers and then his master knocked them all down.

So maybe need to catch more cod or become a different form of crustacean?

Is it better to stubbornly believe you should be enlightened or to fearfully believe you shouldn't? Que sera sera sera....
  • Listen up, old bad-karma Patrul,
    You dweller-in-distraction.

    For ages now you’ve been
Beguiled, entranced, and fooled by appearances.
Are you aware of that? Are you?
Right this very instant, when you’re
Under the spell of mistaken perception
    You’ve got to watch out.
Don’t let yourself get carried away by this fake and empty life.

    Your mind is spinning around
About carrying out a lot of useless projects:
It’s a waste! Give it up!
Thinking about the hundred plans you want to accomplish,
With never enough time to finish them,
    Just weighs down your mind.
    You’re completely distracted
By all these projects, which never come to an end,
But keep spreading out more, like ripples in water.
Don’t be a fool: for once, just sit tight.
    .
    .
    .
    .

    There’s no absolute need to have close friends;
You’re better off just keeping to yourself.

When you’re without any worldly or religious obligations,
Don’t keep on longing to acquire some!

If you let go of everything—
    Everything, everything—
    That’s the real point!

  • you cant change the past.
every skillful action brings you closer.
there are however some people who are disqualified
    1. they killed their own parents.
    2. caused a split in the sangha.
    3. harmed the buddha.
but its only for this lifetime.
so cheer up , think less n work harder.

  • I'm sure my karma is not ripe enough. I am not trying to be enlightened in the total sense. I don't even know what that means. I just want to try to develop more mindfulness and daily meditation habits, and be more compassionate towards myself and others. It seems simple enough, doesn't it.

All of it is perfect as it is, worthy of the highest praise. This very life is it. There is nothing to look for. Not trying to sound obtuse or cryptic but in the end this is what we have and its existence is wonderous.
