@Jason - In Strict Confidence is awesome! I'm such a sucker for synths + German language.

I've been into Russian Circles lately

  • I was thinking about this when @mindatrisk was talking about how Kurt Cobain connected to his generation in some non-mainstream positive values. I really like Morrissey and I think he speaks in this song about sex in a way that is more tender and sensitive than modern 'back that ass up' etc.. He is talking about the insecurities we have in sex (some people) and how to overcome it by stretching out in waves.

  • Roosters mainly. There sure are a lot of roosters around here.

@mindatrisk - I like the cut of your jib!

  • -Chorus:
    I don't wanna look
    Like some kind of fool
    I don't wanna break
    My heart over you
    I'm building a wall
    Everyday it's getting higher
This time I won't end up
    Another victim of love

    You say that I could
    Show some emotion
    That I've been
    Keeping secrets from you
    But I can see through
    All your sweet talk
And all of your affection untrue
    I'm gonna find you out
If I scream and I shout
You won't break down my protection

    Chorus

    I'm gonna lock up
    What I'm feeling inside
    Ain't no way you can
    Break down the door
Cause this time I've learned my lesson
You can take this declaration of war
    Step right back
Put on your coat and your hat
    Gonna avoid all complications

    Chorus
  • This is honestly one of my favorite songs, despite how dark it is. It contains a lot of passion, I recommend giving it a listen at least once, unless metal is not your thing (in which case I do not blame you!)

    Midgard's cold and hatred reigns
    Hunger and disease
    Fenris is set free again
    Chaos is unleashed
The storm of death sweeps the shores
    Famine sweep the land
Ties of kinship is no more
Sons die by their father's hand
    Two men meet on battleground
Their eyes are full of hate
By sacred oaths both are bound
    Death will be their fate
They share the blood of once proud men
    Yet foes they have become
One fights for truth, the other for faith
    Perish has begun
    Here comes the - Bloodshed
It's the age of - Bloodshed
    Here comes the - Bloodshed
It's the age of - Bloodshed
Two brothers meet in battle heat
    Both will die to day
    No victory and no defeat
    Death is their only way
In their eyes is no remorse
    They make their final charge
Thrusting their swords with mortal force
    Piercing each other's hearts
    Here comes the - Bloodshed
It's the age of - Bloodshed
    Here comes the - Bloodshed
    Prepare for - Bloodshed

Kate Bush - 'song of soloman'

    The song of solomon
    The song of everyone
    Who walks the path
    Of the solitary heart
    The soul cries out
    Hear a woman singing

    Don't want your bullshit, yeah
    Just want your sexuality
    Don't want excuses, yeah
Write me your poetry in motion
Write it just for me, yeah
And sing it with a kiss

    Mmm, just take any line
    "comfort me with apples
For I am sick of love
His left hand is under my head
    And his right hand
    Doth embrace me"
This is the song of solomon
    Here's a woman singing

    Don't want your bullshit, yeah
    Just want your sexuality
    Don't want your excuses, yeah
Write me your poetry in motion
Write it just for me, yeah
And sign it with a kiss

And I'll do it for you
I'll be the rose of sharon for you
    I'll do it for you
I'll be the lily of the valley for you
    I'll do it for you
I'll be isolde or marion for you
    I'll do it for you
Ooh I'll come in a hurricane for you
    I'll do it for you
    A wop bam boom

    Don't want your bullshit, yeah
    Just want your sexuality

@anataman... my fav by Kate Bush 'Breathing'

    Outside
    Gets inside
    Through her skin
    I've been out before
But this time it's much safer in

    Last night
    In the sky
    Such a bright light
    My radar send me danger
But my instincts tell me to keep

    Breathing
(Out, in, out, in, out, in...)
    Breathing
    Breathing my mother in
    Breathing my beloved in
    Breathing
    Breathing her nicotine
    Breathing
    Breathing the fall-out in
Out, in, out, in, out, in, out, in

    We've lost our chance
We're the first and the last
    After the blast
    Chips of plutonium
    Are twinkling in every lung

    I love my
    Beloved
    All and everywhere
    Only the fools blew it
    You and me
    Knew life itself is

    Breathing,
    (Out, in, out, in, out...)
    Breathing
    Breathing my mother in
    Breathing my beloved in
    Breathing
    Breathing her nicotine
    Breathing
    Breathing the fall-out in
Out, in, out, in, out, in, out, in
Out, in, out, in, out, in, out
    (Out, out, out, out)

    Janelle Monae is so awesome.
Are we a lost generation of our people?
Add us to equations but they'll never make us equal
She who writes the movie owns the script and the sequel
So why ain't the stealing of my rights made illegal?
They keep us underground working hard for the greedy
But when it's time pay they turn around and call us needy

And then my THIRD favorite artist comes in, and mashes them together. This song literally had me in tears, it is so beautiful. I have not cried like that in years, At least not out of the awe of beauty like that.

    "Miracle"

Just livin’ in the miracle, candles are my vehicle
    Eight nights, gonna shine invincible
No longer be divisible, born through the struggle
Keep on moving through all this hustle
Head up, heads down through all of the bustle
New York City wanna flex your muscle
Look so down, look so puzzled
Huddle ‘round your fire through all the rubble
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all

    Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle

Against all odds drive on till tomorrow
Wipe away your tears and your sorrow
Sunrise in the sky like an arrow
No need to worry, no need to cry
Light up your mind no longer be blind
    Him who searches will find
Leave your problems behind you will shine like a fire in the sky
    what's the reason we’re alive – the reason we’re alive…
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all

    Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle

Eight is the number of infinity one more than what you know how to be
And this is the light of festivity when your broken heart yearns to be free

    Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle

This is one of my favorite songs to listen to, especially when I am in that hazy space between being awake, and asleep, as I settle down for the night. You know that place, where you're only barely conscious of your surroundings, you're very relaxed, and you feel peace. Owsey made the melody, and a vocalist aptly named "CoMa" sang the lyrics.

    Please don't you worry
If I havent had much sleep
Because really I could just sleep in all day

So why don't we go out and
Lay around out in the grass?
Yeah, why don't we relax the day away?

    Oh...

    I'll draw pictures with flowers
    Scatter them around
I'll paint your name in grain

    And if the clouds conspire
    To take the day away
We'll go dancing in the rain

    Oh...

  • It's coming through a hole in the air,
from those nights in Tiananmen Square.
    It's coming from the feel
    that this ain't exactly real,
or it's real, but it ain't exactly there.
    From the wars against disorder,
from the sirens night and day,
from the fires of the homeless,
from the ashes of the gay:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
    It's coming through a crack in the wall;
    on a visionary flood of alcohol;
    from the staggering account
of the Sermon on the Mount
which I don't pretend to understand at all.
    It's coming from the silence
on the dock of the bay,
from the brave, the bold, the battered
    heart of Chevrolet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It's coming from the sorrow in the street,
    the holy places where the races meet;
    from the homicidal bitchin'
that goes down in every kitchen
to determine who will serve and who will eat.
    From the wells of disappointment
where the women kneel to pray
for the grace of God in the desert here
    and the desert far away:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

    Sail on, sail on
    O mighty Ship of State!
    To the Shores of Need
    Past the Reefs of Greed
    Through the Squalls of Hate
Sail on, sail on, sail on, sail on.

    It's coming to America first,
the cradle of the best and of the worst.
It's here they got the range
    and the machinery for change
and it's here they got the spiritual thirst.
    It's here the family's broken
and it's here the lonely say
that the heart has got to open
    in a fundamental way:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It's coming from the women and the men.
O baby, we'll be making love again.
We'll be going down so deep
    the river's going to weep,
and the mountain's going to shout Amen!
It's coming like the tidal flood
    beneath the lunar sway,
    imperial, mysterious,
    in amorous array:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

    Sail on, sail on ...

I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean
I love the country but I can't stand the scene.
And I'm neither left or right
    I'm just staying home tonight,
getting lost in that hopeless little screen.
But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags
    that Time cannot decay,
I'm junk but I'm still holding up
    this little wild bouquet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

  • I listen to the wind
To the wind of my soul
Where I'll end up well I think,
    Only God really knows
I've sat upon the setting sun
    But never, never never never
    I never wanted water once
    No, never, never, never

I listen to my words but
    They fall far below
I let my music take me where
    My heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil's lake
    But never, never never never
I'll never make the same mistake
    No, never, never, never
