Ah, heroes are not so much the valiant the warrior standing alone against the horde. Rather, the hero is performing the mundane tasks of daily life. The greatest heroes give their children or their elderly parent a bath. a hero helps a friend or neighbor or stranger with a needed task or a simple helping hand.
A hero is one who does simple things, as simple as a smile, making another's day or evening just a little brighter.
We may not notice that are surrounded by heroes and that we ourselves may be the very heroes - without capes, titles or fanfare.
Be a hero - just smile, care, say "hello" and "thank you".
There is nothing special about being a hero. But a hero is special to someone.
Hello Heroes!
}Peace to all.
I think the whole thing, from Hamas’ hostage taking to Israel’s response, is totally bat-shit crazy. I don’t see how the common people of Palestine or Israel could condone it. I blame the Palestinian Al-Jazeera journalist for keeping hostages in his house. I blame the Hamas leadership for launching a crazy attack. I blame the Israeli government for deliberately destroying Gaza. I blame the Israeli forces for following orders.

Maybe don't keep hostages in civilian homes? Maybe DON'T take hostages AT ALL?
Seems to me this thread has devolved into a "fuck Israel and Jews" since no one seems to be a little bit relieved INNOCENT CIVILIANS from Israel are alive and safe. Not to mention the rest of the hostages still in captivity - from OTHER NON JEWISH countries like Thailand who were taken because they dared to work for Jewish families or were tourists in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nevermind the PTSD and other trauma they're undoubtedly suffering. But I guess that's ok while you can still blame the Israeli government for stuff sighs

What is the Path?
A self-sacrificing way,
But also a warrior’s way, and not
For brittle, easily-broken, glass-bottle people.
The soul is tested here by sheer terror,
As a sieve sifts and separates
Genuine from fake.
And this road is full of footprints!
Companions have come before.
They are your ladder.
Use them!
Without them you won’t have the spirit-quickness
You need. Even a dumb donkey
Crossing a desert becomes nimble-footed
With others of its kind.
Stay with a caravan. By yourself,
You’ll get a hundred times more tired,
And fall behind

I am Captain Mundane . I don't think they'll be making the movie anytime soon. 😂
Ah but maybe they will. Remember during the COVID epidemic, when people would stand outside hospitals and applaud the nurses and doctors within? That was an act of heroism.
Anyway maybe they will make a movie about the heroism in ordinary life, the wives-slash-fulltime-carers who look after husbands with Alzheimer’s, the good neighbours who make a pan of soup for you, the volunteers who look after the sports society for the neighbourhood kids.

Hmmm. Perhaps that is what I am doing in this topic.

Dear Friends of focussed behaviour,
How do you feel? Sometimes I generate posts that are far from the far shore, far from peace of mind. That, to some, means, copy. To others it means, my mind is like that. It is awful. 😶
The grounding focus that @marcitko describes, is an example of behaviour that is mind calming. Giving us the option, to master rather than inflict or express unhelpful mind states on ourselves and others.
When we are on a Buddhist forum, we interpret and illustrate either wisdom or ignorance, in it's complete range. Crazy wisdom is not a gibbering and jabbering stream of mind noise. Which in effect, can be potentially dangerous.
It is why I have a traditional practice and am still learning. Always. It is a bit like slowing down. Stilling, focussing on what is happening… Finding where the sense and mind gates arise from. In this sense, we can even cut 'no-grass' or turn turfs.
So are the reactions to others posts are an opportunity for meaningful and comprehensible feedback? Always. 🫶
