Buddhism, there is nothing special about it.
And already having said that is to transgress,
And nothing more can be said.

There is something extraordinary in the ordinary - attribution unknown
Closest was Mark Haddon - "Find the extraordinary inside the ordinary."
The best I can make of this is to hope that the high profile of this case will help to bring about the day when we can finally give up on the idea that one ugly, stupid act demands another.

The absolute barbarity of Capital Punishment, which does not bring justice or closure or peace. A life is taken by the state officially, bureaucratically, dispassionately. Murder justified and justifying murder.
It is a state, a nation, saying that murder is OK, if it can be justified. No murder is justified, be it by a person or persons or by the state or nation state.
In this case, the execution was botched and there are two future outcomes. One is the repeat of the barbarism. The other is that she remain in prison permanently.
Yes, what she did was horrendous, inexcuseable . What was done to her was also horrendous, also inecuseable.
If the state's purpose is justice, then justice already has been served.
Christa Pike should spend the rest of he remaining life in prison. She is in a Tennessee Correctional Facility (prison). Sadly, that state's authorities will likely try again. Not justice, just death.
I'm by no means an expert, but I think acceptance of what is would be the choice I would try to take. My heart aches for what's happened, and I am firmly anti capital punishment. I have been all my life since I could understand what it is.
I'm actually quite concerned for the victim's parents as they have made some disturbing (to me) comments on Christa and her current suffering.
I think the biggest challenge we face today is finding our way through the vast mass of information that the algorithms send towards us. I appreciate your efforts @lobster to educate the next generation.

There are two versions of manifesting, a weaker version and a stronger one. I think the stronger one where imagining things makes them appear in your life is not just hokum but potentially dangerous. The weaker one is more of a mindset that sets your intentions and attention towards the things you have in mind making one more likely to find them and make choices that lead to them. That idea makes sense to me.

I don't really know, but think it quite possible that by focusing on something you will see things that you otherwise would not notice even though they are right there.

Koi symbolizes perseverance, strength, good fortune, and transformation.
The koi who reaches the top of the waterfall becomes a dragon.
in terms of Buddhism: We persevere, our strength and perseverance generate the good fortune as we transform our lives. Thus we have the potential to enable to ultimately manifest the the life condition of Bodhisattva, of Buddha.
