Rummaging through my early music collection... this is Cipriano de Rore (1516-1565): Mon petit cueur, chanson for eight voices, performed by the Huelgas Ensemble. There are some very strange harmonies in places--who knew that dissonance could sound so exquisite?

I've got the windows open, listening to the first of Bach's Cello Suites (Queyras). But outside there are children (five, six years old?) playing. It all comes together so nicely, I can't help but smile.
Best recording (IMO) of Thomas Tallis heavenly piece, Spem in alium -- performed by the Huelgas Ensemble. And it is all one-voice-per-part: 40 parts, 40 voices.

^^^ I must say, the new Sigur Ros is up to the standards of the ( ) album and Takk...
Sigur Ros' albums and EPs tend to revolve around three modes (though never exclusively): (1) dark and often loud-- such as Von, ( ) and the dissonant Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do, (2) more melodic pop-oriented material-- like Med Sud or (3) out and out ambient music, like their last album Valtari.
These modes overlap to some degree, but this new album is a good balance between all three. I'm glad because I was somewhat disappointed with their last album. They've revitalized themselves without forcing it.
