“The mind is essentially a survival machine. Attack and defense against other minds, gathering, storing, and analyzing information - this is what it is good at, but it is not at all creative.”
— Eckhart Tolle
This quote really made clear to me what it was about games that attracted me so much, it is a perfect representation of what the mind does: attack and defence, strategising, min-maxing, opportunism. I still have to be careful not to promote the strategising function of the mind into overall control, that temptation still exists for me.

I very much enjoy doing sports, it's my medicine and teacher.
I also enjoy playing chess, these days mostly arm-chair amateur astronomy, arm-chair Himalayan alpinism (following along expeditions), learning about investing, and watching Coursera lectures.
Youtube could also be a hobby (I don't have a TV, nor any subscriptions) but that one is hit and miss, sometimes I watch wonderful and uplifting things and sometimes its mindless drivel.
Whenever I hear or read, "Space, the final frontier", I am always reminded that space goes outward and inward.
Also "Star Treck", but...oh well.
Peace to all
