Looks like we're abusing with The Police,

Doesn't that carry jail time? Oh, well, lock me up. At the risk of starting a flame war, how do you feel about Sting's solo career? I thought it got off to a great start, but then faltered.

"Dream of the blue Turtles" was fantastic and I still listen to it often these days.
I don't think he faltered, though maybe Sting has been open to trying too many different styles for size.
Some people may prefer some more than others, but I feel he has excelled in anything he played.
    He is a natural.

@Buddhadragon Yes, I loved "Dream of the Blue Turtles" and "Nothing Like the Sun." But subsequent albums left me cold. The later albums sounded too...conventional to me, whereas his earlier works seemed so vibrant and original. I guess everyone's tastes are different.

I do think Sting is a multifaceted and versatile musician, @nakazcid

He has not feared to get out of his comfort zone in order to expand his musical tastes, but like I said, not all his songs will be to our taste.

One Sting I loved, from the film "Sabrina"

Sting also went back a bit to his youth in his later career, he was singing about the shipbuilding yards near Liverpool and subjects like that. I found Soul Cages and Ten Summoners Tales to be quite moving at times, although perhaps a little darker than what had gone before

Bob Mould and Dave Grohl performing Huesker Du song Ice Cold Ice

Barren lands and barren minds (ice cold ice)
In another place and time (ice cold ice)
I feel I've never known myself (ice cold ice)
Frozen in the sand again (ice cold ice)
We'll see the blank expressions waiting for progression
Standing still in place and time
    No one's moving
They're only standing still in ice cold ice cold ice
Only standing still in ice cold ice cold ice
We're all machines and all are one (ice cold ice)
We're catching up on what's been done (ice cold ice)
Stealing glimpses from the past (ice cold ice)
Well, these impressions always last (ice cold ice)
    We're never penetrating, always contemplating
We sit and count the blessings but we're blessed by icons
No one else could trust in ice cold ice cold ice cold ice
Only standing still in ice cold ice cold ice
We'll stay together till the end (ice cold ice)
Thinking you might be a friend (ice cold ice)
We sit and pray together that they might change the weather
My love for you will never die
If I sound distant, that's because
You shouldn't see me crying ice cold ice
Shouldn't see me crying ice cold ice

@Jason on the whole I hate your taste in music. ? It seems, like punk and gangsta, to relish unsavoury violence. ❌ However I really enjoy violent films, such as Venom and Deadpool, that often use such music as background. It may be about how I use music. In other words to calm rather than excite.

Anyway enjoyed the last track you posted. Is the music cathartic? I know loud music can relax us, I used to use loud music after work to send me to sleep ... ?

Warning Enclosed video contains extreme Celine Dion

Rediscovering the music of Marin Marais. Not good video quality, and not my favorite rendition of les folies d'espagne, but the dancer lifts the whole performance remarkably.
